The first step to take an airplane is to buy a ticket.Generally people purchase their tickets before hand,either in the airline company or on the internet.However,if you has not done it before you get to the airport,you can still go to the airline ticket counter and buy a ticket.
With a ticket,you can now proceed to check-in.Please go to a check-in counter and show them your air ticket.If you are flying international flights,your passport is also needed.After checking you and your baggages in,you will be given a boarding pass with which you can board the aircraft.
