　　一般人只知道泰國首都名字為曼谷，原來(lái)曼谷正式名字是全世界最長(cháng)的地方名字，總共由167個(gè)字母組成，正式名稱(chēng)為????????????? ??????????????? ??????????????????? ????????? ??????????????? ?????????????? ??????? ???????? ????????? ???????????? ??????????????????，英文為T(mén)he city of angels, the great city, the eternal jewel city, the impregnable city of God Indra, the grand capital of the world endowed with nine precious gems, the happy city, abounding in an enormous Royal Palace that resembles the heavenly abode where reigns the reincarnated god, a city given by Indra and built by Vishnukam。中文為黃臺甫馬哈那坤棄他哇勞狄希阿由他亞馬哈底陸浦歐叻辣塔尼布黎隆烏冬帕拉查尼衛馬哈灑坦
中文的意思為“天人的城市，宏大的城都，佛祖的寶珠，佛祖戰爭中最和平偉大的地方，有九種寶玉存在的樂(lè )都，很多富裕的皇宮，住了權威的神，佛祖以建筑之神再興建的大都會(huì )。”為了外國游客，于是泰國便將首都簡(jiǎn)稱(chēng)為（Bangkok）。
